Robin Bessier and Sollatí Play for the Olympic Peninsula Dance Club at the Port Townsend Elks April 17th

Location:
Elks Lodge #317
555 Otto Street
Port Townsend, WA 98368

The Olympic Peninsula Dance Club is thrilled to welcome Robin Bessier and Sollatí (pronounced Soul La TEA) back to the Port Townsend Elks on April 17th.  The dance starts at 8:00pm.

Bessier and Sollatí play a mix of the best dance music from the 1920's to today - swing, R&B, SollatíLatin, pop, and perhaps a few surprises.  The songbook includes Duke Ellington, Bill Withers, Ray Charles, Cole Porter, Lerner & Lowe, Benny Goodman, Tina Turner, The Isley Brothers, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind & Fire, Johnny Mandel, Burt Bacharach, and Nat King Cole.  Sollatí's debut at the November 2014 OPD dance kept dancers on the floor from opening to close.  Look forward to East Coast Swing. Night Club 2-Step, Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, Waltz, Salsa, an occasional Tango and Bossa thrown into the mix.

Sollatí is composed of professional musicians Robin Bessier on vocals, Kurt Festinger on saxophone, clarinet & flute, George Radebaugh on piano, Ted Enderle on bass, and Tom Svornich on drums.  All have played in bands across the Northwest and the country including Porto Allegre, Redshift, the "Other Side of Forever Band" backing Bessier on her CD of the same name, Pies on the Run, the Chuck Easton Quartet, Impulse, and Opus Fluke.  Enderle was principal bassist with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

A free (with admission) workshop on the "other" Nightclub 2-Step will be offered by Janice Ekland at 7:00 p.m.  Experienced dancers are encouraged to come help beginners. Couples and singles are welcome. No partner or registration is necessary.

This is a smoke-free dance open to all ages.

Admission: $10.
