From Barbara Tusting:

Live Balkan Music - Folk Dancing and Concert

“Kef”, a Balkan dance band from Eugene, OR will perform at 7pm Sunday, March 26 for a Balkan Folk music dance/concert at Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 2333 San Juan Ave, Port Townsend. The concert is sponsored by the QUUF International Folk Dance Adult Learning Program led by Richard and Susi Watson, Alice King and Susi Thomas.

This is a rare opportunity to hear live Balkan music performed in PT, and an Kefexcellent opportunity for beginners and seasoned dancers alike. For those who prefer to simply listen and observe, this promises to be a unique and enjoyable experience. An introduction to basic dance steps will be taught at 6:30, with no partner necessary for these traditional forms of dance. Dance group members will offer help and encouragement to any wishing to join the dances. Balkan line dance bonds communities, and all are welcome to this family-friendly event. Donations gratefully accepted at the door.

Visit Kef’s website for more about the band & samples of Balkan music: http://www.balkanmusic.org/
