Tuesday Ballroom Dance Classes

A cadre of dance teachers will continue ballroom lessons this season. They are: Carol Hathaway, Michael Clemens, Darlene Clemens and Steve Johnson. Derek and Pam (teachers emeritus) will be “sometimes available” – at their convenience” – to teach both the teachers and the students. If possible, we will also include guest teachers.

MacLeay Hall costs us $75 per evening. After this payment, 10% of the revenue will be kept in the “dance kitty” for miscellaneous expenses, and the teacher(s) of the particular dance sessions will receive the remainder of the money collected.

February 11 – March 11: Carol Hathaway teaches Cha-Cha (early class) followed by Rumba (late class)

Place: MacLeay Hall 290 MacLeay Road Sequim

Dates: Five Tuesday evenings beginning on February 11, 2014.

Cost: $6 for one class, $12 for both.

Carol Hathaway will be teaching cha cha and rumba. The cha cha class is from 7 to 7:45 PM, with a practice until 8 PM. The rumba class is from 8 PM To 8:45 PM with practice until 9 PM. These dances have many of the same patterns - what is different is the rhythm.

For more information contact Carol Hathaway, hathaway00atgmail [dot] com or 360-460-3826.

The schedule for the remainder of the year is:

  • March 18 through April 15, Michael and Darlene Clemens, West Coast Swing, beginning and intermediate classes.
  • April 22 through May 20 Derek and Pam Perkins, samba and quick step
  • May 27 through June 24 to be decided at a later date.
