The Delta Rays Play for Discovery Dance at the Palindrome on September 23rd

Local favorites the Delta Rays bring their danceable blend of blues, cajun, rock, and cajun to the Palindrome on September 23rd.  The dance starts at 8:00pm, following a free (with admission) dance lesson from 7pm to 8pm.

Beginning in October, Discovery Dance returns to the Port Townsend Elks and third Fridays.

The Delta Rays have been together for about 20 years and have influences Delta Raysranging from Zydeco, R&B, Irish fiddle and Tex-Mex accordion, Gypsy, and swing. Their play list is largely original material, but is geared toward dancing. Much of these songs are on the four CDs that they have recorded to date.

The Delta Rays include Peter Evasick on fiddle and guitar, George Radebaugh on piano and accordion, Peter Bliven on drums, and Todd Fischer on bass.

A free (with admission) workshop in East Cost Swing will be offered by Janice Ekland at 7:00 p.m.  Experienced dancers are encouraged to come help beginners. Couples and singles are welcome. No partner or registration is necessary.

This is a smoke-free dance open to all ages.

Eaglemount Winery will be serving wine, cider, and beer.

Admission: $10.
