Fannie Mae and the Missing Parts at the Upstage July 17th
From the Upstage web site:
From the Arizona/Mexican border, The Missing Parts is an acoustic, instrumental quartet. Listeners classify their music as everything from “chamber-core” to “alt-punk”, “string metal” to “Jew-grass.” Oliver Blaylock, violin; Douglas Francisco, lap-steel guitar; Brian Hullfish, cello; and Paul Wright, acoustic guitar. While The Missing Parts can be a bit difficult to categorize, their sound is instantly recognizable. The tunes borrow from/pay tribute to many folk traditions while ultimately serving as a bizarre field guide for the sonic traveler. Fannie Mae, squeezebox queen, hosts this band's visit. Perk your ears up for great music!
