Square Dancing for Mariners!

Local caller, Dave Thielk will be hosting the monthly Quimper Grange Square Dance and Social at the Cotton Building (right next to the Pope Marine Park) in downtown Port Townsend on Saturday, September 10th, at 8 PM as part of the 2016 Wooden Boat Festival He will be calling squares, circles and reels to live music. The Seattle based band Scrimshaw Stringband will be playing rocking hard traditional dance music with a seafaring edge. Partners and experience are not necessary. All dances taught. All ages welcome. Square dancing on deck during calm seas has been part of the sailor's tradition for hundreds of years. Celebrate this year's festival with a square dance at the Cotton Building.
