From Bareboards Arts and Entertainment:

The Whisky Minstrels are coming back to beautiful downtown Nordland - Sunday June 19 at 3:00.

Yes, that's Father's Day, and if you're a dad you can treat yourself to some great music by two of the best musicians and nicest guys. And if you not a dad, you'll still enjoy an afternoon of great tunes and entertaining stories. We're trying something new with this one - a mid-afternoon show.

Award-winning songsmith Bruce Coughlan and award-winning multi-instrumentalist Nolan Murry team up to share music and stories from four decades on the road. Their music reflects years spent drawing influences from the tap-root of Roots music. At times you'll hear Celtic influences and stories from their times in the Highlands of Scotland. At other times, the Bluegrass and Country Blues of their journeys through the South. Songs from all the roads in between, and stories that speak of a rich and colorful landscape that has been laid out for these talented artists to interpret.

Bruce Coughlan is a touring/recording artist, perhaps best known for his historical based brand of Canadiana. With a growing list of co-writes, commissioned works and soundtrack credits, this composer/lyricist/adapter/interpreter is a creative force of rare ability. He is a multifaceted talent and will undoubtedly be recognized as a great Canadian songwriter in the league of Gordon Lightfoot and StanRogers.

Nolan Murray is a multi-instrumentalist - fiddle, mandolin, mandocaster - who's lent his musical imprint alongside a list of iconic performers including Loretta Lynn, Brenda Lee, John Fogerty, The Irish Rovers, Randy Travis, John Cowan, Ricky Van Shelton, David Frizzell, Patricia Conroy, Gary Fjellgard and Jess Lee. All this is on top of many fiddle and band championships.
