Red-hot blues and swing dancing come to the Port Townsend Elks on Friday, November 19 from 8 to 11 p.m. with a visit from the Seattle powerhouse band, Stickshift Annie with Kimball and the Fugitives. The dance, which is open to all, is sponsored by Olympic Penninsula Dance.
From Ernie Baird:
Port Townsend will host a close-embrace tango weekend from May 30 to June 1, 2014. This event is for lovers of traditional Buenos Aires milongas who are interested in building a strong practice of codigos (codes) in North America.
The plan is simple: four milongas packed with great music thanks to djs Paul Akmajian, John Gair, Robert Hauk and Barry Gillaspie. The milongas will use traditional seating (i.e. follows, leads, and couples in separate sections) to facilitate the use of cabeceo.
