Stickshift Annie with Kimball and the Fugitives Play for Olympic Peninsula Dance November 19th
Red-hot blues and swing dancing come to the Port Townsend Elks on Friday, November 19 from 8 to 11 p.m. with a visit from the Seattle powerhouse band, Stickshift Annie with Kimball and the Fugitives. The dance, which is open to all, is sponsored by Olympic Penninsula Dance.
An Elegant Evening of Waltz, Tango, Swing, Etc. in Port Angeles May 19th
The Port Angeles High School Orchestra will be performing at Carnegie Hall (yes, THE Carnegie Hall in NYC) in 2013. This is a chance to dance to their music and help raise funds for the trip.
At 7:00pm local dance instructors Steve Johnson and Carol Hathaway will teach an introduction to waltz class. From 8:00pm until 10:00pm, the orchestra will play ballroom music.
There will be a silent auction during the event, and light refreshments served throughout the evening. Elegant attire is encouraged.

Northwest Big Band Free Concert at the Upstage May 2nd

ANNUAL GATHERING OF BIG BAND WORKSHOPS & BIG BAND FUN. CHEERS TO COORDINATOR ELMER RAMSEY! Founded by Gus Lindquist, the Northwest Big Band Workshop was formerly under the auspices of Elderhostel and Centrum,and now is managed by Ramsey, who took over as music director in 2001.

Spring Dance at the Mt. Pleasant Grange May 5th
It’s time to mark your calendars and join us for the first (in a long time) community dance at the Mt. Pleasant Grange hall on May 5th.
Sonja Hickey, one of the local area’s best known dance instructors, will be giving a one hour class in East Coast Swing starting at 6:30 pm, and then the dance portion starts at 7:30 pm. Sonja will also DJ for us from a large collection of music. There will be a bunch of oldies, with some newer music mixed in.

Intermediate Waltz Classes Start at the Sequim Prairie Grange Hall April 3rd

Seems like we have had April showers since January. Luckily we dance inside so we can laugh at the weather.
In April we plan to teach Waltz in both the Beginning and Intermediate classes. This results from popular demand in a non scientific vote in March.
Waltz is a popular dance because it is played often, has beautiful music, and is relatively easy to learn. Visions of charming ladies with swirling dresses, dancing with handsome gentlemen.
