Red-hot blues and swing dancing come to the Port Townsend Elks on Friday, November 19 from 8 to 11 p.m. with a visit from the Seattle powerhouse band, Stickshift Annie with Kimball and the Fugitives.  The dance, which is open to all, is sponsored by Olympic Penninsula Dance.

It’s time to mark your calendars and join us for the first (in a long time) community dance at the Mt. Pleasant Grange hall on May 5th.

Sonja Hickey, one of the local area’s best known dance instructors, will be giving a one hour class in East Coast Swing starting at 6:30 pm, and then the dance portion starts at 7:30 pm. Sonja will also DJ for us from a large collection of music. There will be a bunch of oldies, with some newer music mixed in.

Annual Woodworker's Ball at the Fort Worden USO November 4th

Please join us a on Friday night, November 4, 2011 for The Woodworker's Ball from 7-10 PM at the USO Hall at Fort Worden, in Port Townsend.

You don't have to be a woodworker to join in the fun. This is the school thanking the community for their support during the last year, a celebration our successes and taking a look into the future.

We're presenting this as a Desert Social and Dance. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Katzenjammer Plays for Olympic Peninsula Dance September 16th

Katzenjammer, the music duo of Charlie Gould and Val Vontourne, will open Olympic Peninsula Dance's 2011-12 season on Friday, September 16 at the Port Townsend Elks. For more than a decade Gould and Vontourne have been performing together, appearing at ballroom dance clubs including Olympia's Love to Dance, the Dance Club of Olympia, Dance Club of Grays Harbor, the Soiree Dance Club in Olympia, USA dance clubs, and Manhattan Ballroom Dance Club.

Well here we are at the end of this Spring season already. The first four Tuesdays of May will see the last classes until September. We always cease teaching in June, July and August because many people go on vacation and it is too hot in the Grange Hall. There will be NO class on May31. The Fall classes will start on September 13th.

We plan to return to Waltz in May for both beginners and Intermediate classes.
