We explore various dance forms. We learn a move in one dance, then tweak it to fit into another. We focus on the details that make dancing successful for both lead and follow. We take a break, have dessert and conversation. It is a wonderful community building evening for both dance and friendship. Space is limited, but I hope you can make it for these special nights.

STICKSHIFT ANNIE SWINGS INTO SPRING FOR MARCH DANCE
Stickshift Annie with Kimball & the Fugitives
Fri. Mar. 21 8:00 - 10:30pm at the Port Townsend Elks Lodge
Olympic Peninsula Dance keeps partner dancing alive in Port Townsend by bringing Stickshift Annie with Kimball & the Fugitives to the Port Townsend Elks Club on Friday, March 21, 2014.
One of the busiest and hardest-working singers in the Seattle area, Annie Eastwood has been playing venues around the Northwest since 1996. Dancers can't resist her sassy delivery of sultry swing, red-hot blues plus latin, rock and smoldering jazz, composing and recording an eclectic mix that won her a nomination in 2002 by the Washington Blues Society for “Best Female Vocalist” and “Best Northwest Recording Artist.”
Annie’s sultry voice is a good match with six-string and slide-guitarist Kimball Conant, who often joins her on vocals. One of the tightest rhythm sections in the Northwest, the Fugitives Trio is rounded out by Larry Hill, on bass, and John Rockwell, on drums. They contribute texture and beat to the band's smooth sounds and straight-ahead rockin' roadhouse blues.
There will be a free (with admission) dance lesson at in Intermediate East Coast Swing at 7:00 pm by Janice Eklund. Experienced dancers are encouraged to come help beginners. No partner or registration is necessary.
This is a smoke-free dance open to all ages.
Admissions: Adults $15; Disabled, Student with any school ID or with one-time Adult Dance Student Discount $10; Age 12 & under $7. The pre-dance lesson is free with admission.
